21 Things You May Not Know About The Indian Act

Author Bob Joseph, Host Shelagh Rogers

Bob Joseph Jr. is a highly sought-after speaker and compelling author. His book 21 Things You May Not Know About the Indian Act has been on weekly bestseller lists for three years now. If the bestseller lists are any indication, Canadians want to understand the past and work on building relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. We are deeply honoured that Bob Joseph Jr. will join Shelagh Rogers, CBC journalist and TRC Honorary Witness, to talk about the Indian Act and why every Canadian needs to understand its effects if truth, healing and reconciliation are to gain footholds in this country. Bob Joseph Jr. believes the world can be changed, one person at time. He will share with us his vision for moving forward, together.

Bob Joseph is an Indigenous person, status Indian and Hereditary Chief in the Gayaxala (Thunderbird) clan, the first clan of the Gwawa’enuxw, one of the 18 tribes of the Kwakwaka’wakw.
