Group B | Session 1 of 3
Raku is an ancient method of firing that creates beautiful effects on ceramic pots by exposing them to fire, smoke, and ash. You will learn to form clay to create a vessel, apply raku glazes and then fire your pot in a wood-fired outdoor kiln. Suitable for beginners or advanced students. This workshop has 2 groups attending 3 sessions each: Making (2.5 Hrs), Glazing Drop-In (1 Hr), and Firing (2.5 Hrs). Classes are: April 6, 9, & 10. Please register for either Group A or Group B.
Group A: 9:30am to 12:00pm on Monday, April 6 (Making) and Friday, April 10 (Firing)
Group B: 1:30pm to 4:00pm on Monday, April 6 (Making) and Friday April 10 (Firing)
Drop-in Group A & Group B: 10:00am to 4:00pm on Thursday, April 9 (Glazing)
Graham Sheehan has been potting on Gabriola for over 40 years and specializes in wood-fired functional ware. He is a well loved and experienced instructor.
