Learn how to select images suitable for photo encaustic process, mount photo prints onto a substrate, paint prints with encaustic medium (beeswax), and how to manipulate the wax to create a highly unique work of art.

Chris Straw is a landscape and wildlife photographer, an experienced instructor  and mixed media artist specializing in infusing photographic prints with encaustic medium (beeswax).

Students should bring: An apron and/ or protective clothing, a heat gun if you have one. Three 5X7 or 8×10 photo prints – please contact Chris for advance assistance in selecting images.

Please note: Workshop registration is limited to 6 people. The workshop will be held outdoor and seating will be spaced 6 feet apart. COVID protocols in effect. A CapShield – a reusable plastic face shield with clips that attach to any hat – will be provided to you free of charge.
