Learn how to select images suitable for photo encaustic process, mount photo prints onto a substrate, paint prints with encaustic medium (beeswax), and how to manipulate the wax to create highly unique work of art. We will also discuss various framing techniques.

Chris Straw is a landscape and wildlife photographer, an experienced instructor  and mixed media artist specializing in infusing photographic prints with encaustic medium (beeswax).

Students should bring: An apron and/ or protective clothing, a heat gun if you have one. Three 5X7 or 8×10 photo prints – please contact Chris for advance assistance in selecting images. A bagged lunch and water.
