This hands-on food preparation experience celebrates the beauty and life force of local ingredients. As you chop, combine, and transform, you’ll discuss the nutritional, artistic, spiritual, and healthful properties of a variety of whole foods. We will eat our creations together and sample some island specialties.
Sharon Pattison is a school teacher and a homemaker who has spent most of her life cooking for a family of 5 and teaching school. She is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and holds a Food Safe Certificate. Nancy Laird is formally trained as a food chemist and has dabbled in the art and science of chocolate, wine, cereals, and sea vegetables, preferring her foods to be local, delicious, nutritious, and fun.
Materials to bring: A favourite knife, cutting board, inside shoes, camera (optional), container to take samples home.
