Gabriola Flower Heads Workshop

Gabriola Flower Heads Workshop
Sunday, Apr 3 | 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Surf Lodge

$50 | Ages 13+ –

Join local floral designers for a whimsical spring-fling-flowers-onyour-head workshop! Learn the basics of designing and constructing a seasonal flower crown using blooms, foliage, and natural materials from Gabriola’s own ‘Just Another Weed Patch Farm’. Then be prepared to take your creation to the next level and really turn some heads! Participants will have the opportunity to model their unique flower creations with a professional photographer who will capture smile-inducing portraits for you to keep!

Sonja Zupanec is a local farmer-florist specializing in lush and wild seasonal arrangements for weddings, using unique flowers and foliage grown on her sunny south end farm. Sue Dunn is the former head gardener at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge with many year’s experience in floral design and wedding floral work. R. Jeanette Martin is a professional photographer with a sharp eye for capturing breathtaking portraits of people and animals (with or without flowers on their heads!).

Materials to bring: Snacks, water, garden snips/sharp scissors, apron/a small hand towel, hat/headpiece you may wish to decorate instead of a base crown we provide/make in the workshop.

*Due to current Provincial Health Orders still in place, Vaccine Passports and ID will be required at this workshop.
